Eco-Friendly Campsite in Salento: our mission for a future in harmony with nature
Sustainability, for us, is not a passing trend, but a way of life and welcoming others.
At Baia di Gallipoli, sustainability is a big part of who we are. Being an eco-friendly campsite in Salento means taking real steps to reduce the environmental impact of holidays, while preserving the 30-hectare nature reserve that surrounds us for future generations.
Every decision we make is guided by a holistic vision: from generating our own energy to protecting biodiversity and supporting the local economy. Staying here means taking part in a project to actively protect the Salento area, while enjoying all the comforts of a campsite in Gallipoli in complete harmony with the environment.
Over time, we've created a green haven by planting trees every year and building up our natural resources. Our efforts have transformed the camping village and the surrounding rural area into a huge space that now serves as a true green lung, vital for the landscape, the ecosystem, and the well-being of those who live here.

From farm to table: locally sourced products and support for small local producers
We believe sustainability brings out the authentic flavors of our land. We promote mindful eating based on transparency. In Baia’s garden, we grow seasonal organic vegetables that you can enjoy at the bistro or purchase in your “garden box” to take back to your accommodation or home at the end of your holiday. We work exclusively with small, carefully selected local producers, such as artisans and farms in the area, to offer you locally sourced, fresh products, promoting the Salento circular economy.
Sustainability is also culture, education, and sharing.
We organize nature workshops for children and activities for all ages dedicated to local traditions and craftsmanship. Our events celebrate the region through gastronomy, music, traditional dances, and Salento rituals. We also promote tours and excursions to discover the most authentic side of Salento: educational farmhouses, charming villages, artisan workshops, and places where time still seems to move slowly. Renewable energy and smart solutions for the environment
We have invested in state-of-the-art infrastructure to make your holiday increasingly eco-friendly:
- The sun takes center stage: the installation of modern solar panels allows us to harness Apulia’s abundant sunshine to produce clean energy and hot water.
- Lighting efficiency: the entire property is equipped with energy-efficient (LED) lighting, drastically reducing waste and light pollution while respecting the natural rhythms of the local wildlife.
Travel sustainably: EV charging, bike rental and public transport
We encourage our guests to leave the car behind and explore the region in a more dynamic and sustainable way.
One of the best ways to discover the dunes of Punta della Suina and the trails of the Natural Park is definitely by bike.
That’s why we offer a bike rental service directly on site.
For internal transport within the campsite, we also use electric carts to help guests move around comfortably.
To get around easily, we also recommend using public transport, such as the SalentoinBus service, which stops right at the entrance of the campsite and conveniently connects you to Gallipoli and the other gems of Salento, without the stress of parking.
